‍Every great business has a story. Ours began in 1959 with a simple idea: combine quality craftsmanship, hard work and a commitment to customers to build something that would stand the test of time.

More than 65 years later, that same mindset continues to drive Stoddarts as we support builders, trades and customers across Australia with integrated building products and services.

Built on strong foundations

In 1959, Tom and Albert Stoddart founded the business as a steel fabrication manufacturing company. Starting small, the business quickly built a reputation for quality manufacturing, reliable service and a commitment to delivering solutions for customers.

In those early years, Stoddarts manufactured stainless steel products including electric hot water systems, establishing the strong foundations of craftsmanship and innovation that continue to shape the business today.

But from the beginning, Stoddarts has always been a business willing to evolve.

The evolution into building products

In 1978, Stoddarts entered a new chapter, expanding into the residential building products market by supplying and installing fascia and gutter products for new homes across Brisbane.

This milestone marked the beginning of a journey that would see Stoddarts become a trusted partner to builders and a leading provider of building solutions across Australia.

As the business continued to grow, the manufacturing and building products operations separated in 1991, creating two successful businesses with shared heritage and strong foundations.

Today, both continue to thrive while maintaining the values and relationships that have connected them for more than six decades.

A legacy of innovation and collaboration

‍The connection between Stoddarts and Stoddart Manufacturing remains an important part of our story.

Stoddart Manufacturing continues to support the wider business through the manufacture of key components used across our products and services, including screw pier components for Katana Foundations, brackets supporting our fascia, gutter and roofing solutions, and passive roof ventilation systems.

More recently, the teams have continued to collaborate on new opportunities, including areas such as framing, demonstrating the ongoing commitment to innovation and finding better ways to support our customers.

It is a powerful example of how strong foundations, shared values and collaboration can help businesses continue to evolve for generations.
